Witloof Collective is the name of a collaborative project that lives on Instagram, a couple of animators, special effects artists and 3D sculptors, are in charge of publishing content on that account.
The type of works that these creatives publish are classic paintings with animations. But they are not just any kind of animations, some are very absurd and bizarre.
These characteristics make the animations published on the project’s instagram account Witloof Collective, of characters in classic paintings are great.
The first animated painting I saw was: «The girl of the pearl»By Johannes Vermeer. The effect is very realistic in the painting and as a spectator it makes you feel a lot of strange things in the body. Because you don’t expect that on a girl’s face where there is usually a pair of eyes, there will be lips instead. Which can chew gum and less than make bombs with them.
Rare animations of characters in classic paintings
There is also a painting of Frida Kahlo, where there are rays, babies, monkeys and skeletons. There is also an animation of the «The Mona Lisa», By Leonardo da Vinci. But the attention is undoubtedly taken by “The Girl with a Pearl Earring”, that animation is unique and it is what made several people interested in the Witloof Collective project.
There are not many classic paintings with animations on the project’s Instagram account, but if you pay a little attention you will find a couple of easter egg. And it is that the model is the same in each of the animations.
The people involved in the project are: Midhun R and David Taillebuis. Each of them has an Instagram account, one is more active than the other. But you can see more of the jobs and projects he’s collaborating on.
The better account of the two is Midhun’s, he has many 3D character models. If you like that type of work, you must enter your account because you will find very good material.
You have to follow the Witloof Collective account, because they promise to publish more animations of characters from classic paintings. If one is just as good, weird, and bizarre as the “Girl with the Pearl” chewing gum with her eyes, it’s worth giving it a Follow.
