The Italian designer Efi Kabak, came up with creating flavors of beer that were inspired by 4 different typographic families. The name of the beers plays with the name of the typefaces and the name of beers known throughout the world.
For example: HelvetIPA, FuturALE, BodoWeizen and the Times Lager. The beer Times Lager, is the result of the mixture between the typographic family; Times New Roman and the type of Lager beer.
The same goes for beer Futurale, is the combination between the Futura type family and the Ale type.
The name of the beer is: the type can. To differentiate the flavors of beer, the cans have 4 different colors at the bottom. In addition the cans have their name printed, using the typography with which their flavor is inspired.
Beers inspired by typographies and typographies inspired by beers
Now the important thing about this project is that cans and beer brand is a concept. That is to say that you will not find the type can in the refrigerators of the stores or supermarkets.
It occurred to Efi Kabak to create the designs of these cans while reading a book. He doesn’t mention the title of the book, but I guess it had to do with beers or typographies.

This type of project is great for only a small segment of the world’s population. The concept would be understood by those who are involved in the world of design or those who handle some typefaces in their work.
I don’t think anyone who doesn’t know about typefaces ends up getting six of these beers. Unless its flavor is very rich or you can buy them only in places where they sell craft beers.
If the beers existed and could be bought in stores, I would buy the 4 for the design of the can and the concept that occurred to the Italian designer.
Now what I wonder is, if there were a beer inspired by Comic Sans, what would it taste like?
