What is wedding branding?
LB: When we talk about branding in general, we mean giving an identity and personality to a brand, so that we transmit an essence, through emotions and experiences that we generate. It is what makes us differentiate ourselves from our competition and make our brand unique, if we don’t have branding we would only be competing for price and other more tangible features.
Just as we can give a brand an identity, we can also do it with a wedding. The wedding is a very special moment for the bride and groom, it is a unique moment where we celebrate; For many it means something very big that they have been waiting for all their lives.
Wedding branding or wedding branding refers to creating a concept for this event, where all the details revolve around it. The idea is to convey through this concept about us, our tastes and our personality, to have a personal brand at our wedding to give it a style and identity.
All the bride and groom want their marriage to be “the wedding” and become something unique and different, to feel special and also transmit it to their guests. For example, one of the elements to convey that concept would be the color palette we use, since each color has a different meaning. For example, if we want a very romantic wedding, we look for pastel tones.
What elements of the wedding can we shape our branding?
LB: We have three important pillars: invitations, decoration (details) and stationery. The invitations are the beginning of everything, the guests will receive them and they will see that our wedding has a style, they will be able to identify the colors and shapes, and they will know how the wedding tone will be. Thus, expectations of how the event will be will be generated.
How can we find our brand or wedding style?
I recommend you start by asking yourself some questions, such as what you like, what you would like to convey at your wedding or if you have thought of any style. In the case that we want to dedicate ourselves to advise, let us know the bride and groom personally, let us observe how they are, how they come dressed, let us ask them a lot of questions: what do they work on, how did they meet, what do they like to do, what do they like? Tell your love story. It takes a lot of intuition and observe very well.
It’s like making a brief of a client. Many times it happens to me that while we ask the questions, they know each other and realize what they want and don’t want for their weddings. I try to raise something different for what they don’t expect.
Another tip I would recommend is to seek inspiration everywhere, perhaps not only Pinterest, but also in magazines, books, cultural events and more. In my course of Branding & Visual Identity for weddings I am doing with Crehana, I give you tips on how to find inspiration and how to make mood boards.
What do you think are the main benefits of having branding in our marriage?
LB: Make that moment unique and memorable. All this will be registered in a photo and videos but especially in your memory. Also, let your event breathe a visual coherence and be harmonious in sight. Finally, guide the bride and groom towards the indicated suppliers, because there are types of suppliers for different wedding styles. In short, leave a mark on your love story.
